Girls Day Out in STEM events: Where Serious STEM meets Serious Fun!

Message for Mums

This International Women’s Day we are celebrating the amazing things that women and girls have achieved in STEM, those who have supported them and want to support them in their journey.

MISSION

GDOS helps girls aged 10 to 14 aspire to a career in STEM through education, working with professional female role models and through opportunities in STEM. With helping girls at our core, we celebrate inclusion and their supporters!

PURPOSE

Achieving for purpose

We aim to provide an understanding to girls and their supporters about what opportunities there are in STEM industries and what skills are needed. More girls are needed in STEM as there will be so many job openings - they are needed to help fill the positions!

Building diverse thinking

We strive to develop awareness amongst girls and their supporters that diverse thinking is actually needed in industry – so girls come just as you are! Girls can connect with STEM industries in a meaningful way.

Providing an inclusive space

Having a safe girl-centric space where support is given to girls’ efforts and to celebrate their achievements is key. Girls can see that learning about STEM can be fun and inclusive!

Creating united innovation

Together we can go further in problem solving and look for opportunities, so as to bring about real changes. United we improve the future for girls and their supporters.

We are proud to collaborate with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) to help patients from regional, rural and remote parts of Queensland. Our goal is to raise $5,000 for this vital service - together our girl power can achieve this! Click on the button to sign up now to start your fundraising challenge!

See you there!
